Who Is Installing Your Swimming Pool?
You should always know WHO is installing your swimming pool. It doesn't matter what kind of pool you are purchasing, if it is not installed correctly. All Pool Installers should be licensed and insured in your area. Installers should also have years of experience and knowledge of many swimming pools from different manufacturers.
Educate Yourself Before Buying a Pool
Think you might be ready to take the plunge? You can educate yourself with these simple yet extremely useful guidelines.
Know Your Equipment & What You're Buying...
When purchasing a pool, remember the quality of your equipment is just as important as your swimming pool. Whether your liner is an overlap liner or beaded liner, it should be no less than a 25 gauge in thickness. 25 gauge is the highest gauge available to purchase. Do not be fooled otherwise. Doughboy Pool Liners are measured in "mil." These are superior to "gauge" liners simply because "mil" is an exact measurement of thickness rather than a "gauge" which is just an estimate. For instance, a 12'x20' 20-25 mil Doughboy Liner would outweigh a 12'x20' 25 gauge liner by at least 15-20 lbs.
KNOW what filtration system you are purchasing. Stick to well known name-brand systems that are proven to be efficient (ex. Waterway, Hayward, Doughboy). These types of filtration systems are not only are proven products but will make owning a pool as easy possible. If a part ever needs to be replaced, it is extremely simple and straightforward to get.
When Purchasing A Semi In-ground Or Above Ground Pool...
Make sure you are purchasing your new swimming pool from a reputable company. How long has the pool manufacturer been in business for? Know what your pool is made of whether it is steel, aluminum or resin. There are different materials used in pool manufacturing that affect the quality of the swimming pool.
Make sure you know that your semi in-ground pool is CERTIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER to go into the ground. Most above ground pools can NOT be put into the ground but are sold as semi in-ground pools!!! These pools' warranties are VOID. Please be aware of this!
